Wednesday is the hump of the week, and I want to talk about the thing that carries us over every hump in life: friendships that endure.
Time is the test of everything. Fashion changes. Cities change. Priorities change. The friendships that survive all of it are the ones built on something deeper than convenience. Distance cannot end them. Silence cannot end them. Even falling out for a season cannot end them, because real friendship finds its way back home.
I think about the friends I can call after years of missing each other, and within two minutes we are laughing like no time passed at all. That is not luck. That is proof of what was real all along.
If you are in a season where a friendship feels stretched thin, do not rush to bury it. Endurance is not about never straining. It is about not breaking. Reach out first. Forgive quickly. Remember why you linked arms in the first place.
Some things in this world are temporary by design. True friendship is not one of them. It bends, it stretches, and it holds.
Endurance also asks something of you. Be the friend who endures. Be the one who does not keep score, who does not let a season of silence become a lifetime of distance, who picks up the phone first even when your pride says wait. Every enduring friendship has at least one person who refused to let go. Decide today that you will be that person for somebody.
If this spoke to you on this Wednesday, do three things for me. Share it with somebody who needs the reminder. Leave a comment and tell me which line hit home. And subscribe so we can keep taking this journey together. Your voice matters here. #PatrickTCooper #BeEncouraged
