On a Thursday I want to remind you of something simple but heavy: love is a verb. Love is not a mood. It is not a hashtag. It is action.
Anybody can say the words. The world is full of people talking about love on Monday and withholding it by Friday. What separates real love from the performance is what you actually do. Love shows up early and stays late. Love listens without waiting for its turn to talk. Love answers the phone, checks the pulse, keeps the promise.
I have been loved with words and I have been loved with action, and I can tell you they do not feel the same. The words fade. The actions build a person.
So today, do not just feel love. Perform it. Send the text. Make the call. Forgive the debt. Show up with your hands full. Encouragement is one of the highest forms of love, because you are choosing to pour into somebody with nothing required in return.
If you want to know who loves you, do not listen for declarations. Watch for consistency. Love that only speaks is noise. Love that moves is proof.
And start with yourself. Love yourself with action today. Rest your body instead of running it into the ground. Speak kindly to the face in the mirror instead of rehearsing every mistake. Keep the small promise you made to yourself, because how you treat you teaches the world how to treat you. Love is action, and you are the first person who should feel it.
If this spoke to you on this Thursday, do three things for me. Share it with somebody who needs the reminder. Leave a comment and tell me which line hit home. And subscribe so we can keep taking this journey together. Your voice matters here. #PatrickTCooper #BeEncouraged
